My beloved Shannon! (3/24/84)
I adopted Shan right after her 11th birthday, on April Fool's Day, 1995. I have since found out she had six litters of pups and we have a picture of her with one of these puppies, Jefferson.

Mamie (2/12/84) - For whatever reason, the other night Mamie confiscated all the stuffed animals in the room and took them to bed with her! Mamie is in the process of writing her life story. Read the first chapter - Mame's World.

Cara (5/1/87) - She lived at my house for seven weeks and then went to her permanent home. Her new family had decided "not to get too attached" to her, since she was almost 10 years old. I asked how long that attitude lasted. The response was "almost until we got to the car!"

When I go to Nebraska to visit my family, I try to find time to visit my Aunt Alice Schroeder who lives in the care center. The girls are always a big hit!
